What is the Kappa Scholarship Foundation
The Cleveland Alumni Kappa Alpha Psi Scholarship Foundation since 1947, has recognized young high school seniors of achievement. Originally formed as a committee of the Cleveland (OH) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., the Foundation emerged as its own 501(c)(3) corporation in 1993. Since its inception, more than $100,000 worth of awards have been raised and contributed to the immediate benefit of college-bound youth in the Greater Cleveland area.
Every year the Foundation raises funds from our generous partners and through event fundraisers such as our Golf Outing, Black and White Scholarship Gala, raffle ticket sales, and silent auction. After the Awards Committee reviews, interviews, and selects awardees, the year culminates in a Scholarship Awards Luncheon on the 3rd Saturday in April.
Barring a few exceptions, we are proud to boast that many of our recipients often attend Ohio Colleges or Universities and many times return to the Cleveland community to return the support they've received through their career choice. Even during the pandemic and it's recovery we have been steadfast in our commitment by awarding over $50,000 in scholarship money to our young scholars.
